Special Presentation of the Gdynia Film School’s films in Seattle

Marcin Niemkiewicz’s “love_proxy”, Kamil Czudej’s “Nothing Serious”, Piotr Pluta’s “Such a Perfect Day”, and Lulu Pomorova’s doc “Olga” will be featured at the special presentation of the short films from the Gdynia Film School within the forthcoming 33rd Seattle Polish Film Festival to take place between October 24th – 27th. The festival will present also the brand new, Polish feature films, like Michal Kwiecinski’s “Chopin, Chopin”, Juliusz Machulski’s “Vinci 2”, and Wladyslaw Pasikowski’s “Assassination of the Pope.”

Awarded recently in the San Francisco Sci-Fi Film & TV Competition, and earlier in Berlin and Sopot, and presented in Miami, Brussels, Lyon, Oslo, NY, and Mumbai – “love_proxy” by Marcin Niemkiewicz – with use of animation and live-action follows a love story in a world, in which a man, thanks to the brand-new invention of a robot doppelganger, can function in many different places at the same time.

Currently nominated for the prestigious Polish Jan Machulski’s Awards for the Short Film in multiple categories, and earlier awarded in Poland, Czechia, and Germany, “Nothing Serious” by Kamil Czudej, observes how not-that-great a party, accidentally turns into something that might change the character’s life.

Shown at the prestigious festivals in Gdynia, Łódź, Łagów, and Sopot, as well as in Busan and Mumbai, “Such a Perfect Day” by Piotr Pluta shows far reaching psychological and social consequences of a hazard addiction.

Presented at many film festivals in Poland (New Horizons FF, etc.), a documentary debut film of the director of “Everything for My Friend” – Lulu Pomorova – “Olga” focuses on struggles for working rights of the sexual workers in Poland.
