“The Mandala” and “Everything for My Friend” at the Short List of the New Horizons FF in Wrocław!

Mikołaj Janik’s “The Mandala” and Lulu Pomorova’s “Everything for My Friend” have been selected for the prestigious Short List of the Polish shorts, selected by the New Horizons Film Festival in Wrocław. The 24th edition of the highly popular event will take place between July 18th – 28th.

Awarded recently for the best cinematography in Koszalin, “The Mandala” in a thriller convention tells a story of a mother and son struggling with a loss.

Presented earlier in Portugal, Finland, Mexico, Spain, India, and the US, ”Everything for My Friend” follows a friendship of two women at a crucial point of transition between artistic school and professional life. The two friends face a choice whether to support or compete against each other.

  • Mikołaj Janik’s “Mom Is Going Back” got two awards at the 23rd Uhvati Film Festival: Grand Prix at the Novi Sad edition, and Second Prize for Documentary Film in Rijeka, Croatia. Organized in the region of Southern Europe (Novi Sad in Serbia, Rijeka in Croatia, and Kotor in Montenegro) in October and November, the festival features fiction and documentary films presenting themes of disability.

  • “Nothing Serious” by Kamil Czudej and “Such a Perfect Day” by Piotr Pluta will be presented in various competitive sections of the forthcoming 18th Amarcort Film Festival in Rimini, Federico Fellini’s birthplace. The festival held between November 25th – 30th, will show “Nothing Serious” in the Student Films category, while “Such a Perfect Day” – in the Titta category dedicated to films on parent-child relationship.
