Piotr Janiszewski

He comes from a small town Lidzbark in Masuria. He graduated from The Halina and Jan Machulskis’s Acting School in Warsaw. He loves good, Polish cinema: Munk, Chmielewski, Chęciński, Bareja, Koterski, Machulski, Pasikowski – and he wishes to go in this direction.

His first films were works involved in problems and issues connected
with his town. He also undertook attempts to create local media. Aero
Hojskole scholarship holder in Denmark. He made there a short film,
which won, among others, an award in a contest to celebrate the 100th
anniversary of Polish Cinema and qualified for the contest OKFA Konin
2010.

  • “The Mandala” and “Mom Is Coming Back” at the Washington Polish Film Festival

  • Mikołaj Janik’s “The Mandala” and “Mom Is Coming Back” will be presented in the short films competition of the Washington Polish Film Festival. Organized by the Kosciuszko Foundation festival will be held between May 10th – 12th and will screen the selection of the brand new Polish films, including seven features and eight shorts.

  • Special Mention for ”Transgression” at the Porto Femme FF

  • Presented in the Student Films Competition, Diana Szczotka ‘s ”Transgression” got Special Mention at the Porto Femme Film Festival that took place between April 16th-21st. The festival featured numerous films directed by women from around the world in nine thematic sections.
