”Everything for My Friend” in the NEXXT Competition of the New Directors, New Films Film Festival in Espinho, Portugal!

“Everything for My Friend” by Lulu Pomorova will be shown in the NEXXT student films competition of the forthcoming New Directors, New Films FF in Espinho. Festival will screen over 200 feature and short films by the newcomers from around the world between June 19th – 26th. Among the festival’s confirmed guests of this year’s edition are Carlos Reygadas (Japon, Silent Light, Our Time), Oscar® winner Brenda Chapman (Brave, Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King), actress Noomi Rapace, editors Yorgos Mavropsardis (Yorgos Lanthimos’ films), and Melody London (Jim Jarmush’s films Coffee & Cigarettes, Stranger Than Paradise, Down by Law), as well as casting directors: Nancy Bishop .(Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, Hellboy, Snowpiercer), Caprice Crawford, and Jo Monteiro.

”Everything for My Friend” – a diploma film by Lulu Pomorova – follows a friendship of two women at a crucial point of transition between artistic school and professional life. The two friends face a choice whether to support or compete against each other.

“Everything for My Friend” will be presented among the student films from the FAMU, ECAM, ESTC, and the Vienna Film Academy, among others.

  • Mikołaj Janik’s “Mom Is Going Back” got two awards at the 23rd Uhvati Film Festival: Grand Prix at the Novi Sad edition, and Second Prize for Documentary Film in Rijeka, Croatia. Organized in the region of Southern Europe (Novi Sad in Serbia, Rijeka in Croatia, and Kotor in Montenegro) in October and November, the festival features fiction and documentary films presenting themes of disability.

  • “Nothing Serious” by Kamil Czudej and “Such a Perfect Day” by Piotr Pluta will be presented in various competitive sections of the forthcoming 18th Amarcort Film Festival in Rimini, Federico Fellini’s birthplace. The festival held between November 25th – 30th, will show “Nothing Serious” in the Student Films category, while “Such a Perfect Day” – in the Titta category dedicated to films on parent-child relationship.
