Maria Dudaref Awarded with the Honourable Mention for Her Role in the ”Resurrection” at the Toronto Polish Film Festival
Maria Dudaref – actress in a leading role in the “Resurrection” by Luiza Budejko – has been awarded with the Honourable Mention of the Jury of the Toronto Polish Film Festival 2023. The festival took place between November 16th – 19th, and presented the “Resurrection” as one of the seven Polish short films in the program.
The festival’s Jury statement declared, among others: “It is with great pleasure and enthusiasm that the jury of the 2023 Ekran Film Festival proposes an Honourable Mention be awarded to the exceptional Maria Dudaref for her outstanding performance in ‘Resurrection.’ Maria’s portrayal as the daughter to a grieving father was excellent, and her emotional depth and authenticity truly drove the heart of the film.”
Awarded recently in Italy and Poland, and earlier in Czechia, India, Macedonia, Portugal, and the US, the ”Resurrection” by Luiza Budejko sketches a portrait of a family dealing with the death of small Marcel. 10-year-old Magda, Marcel’s sister, feels a need to help their parents overcome the tragedy and to do something that will let them all return to their life as it was before.
