“The Mandala” and “Mom Is Coming Back” in Competition of the Freedom Film Festival in Poland

Mikołaj Janik’s two films: “The Mandala” and “Mom Is Coming Back” have been selected to the National Short Film Competition of the Freedom Film Festival to take place in Radom, Poland, between July 10th – 13th. The festival’s National Short Film Competition will feature 26 titles produced, among others, by the Film Schools in Łódź, Katowice and Warsaw, as well as by the Munk Film Studio or the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw.

Awarded recently for the best cinematography in Koszalin, “The Mandala” in a thriller convention tells a story of a mother and son struggling with a loss.

“Mom Is Coming Back” – a documentary short – tries to answer questions like whether it is possible to journey in place, and if one can replace the Himalayan amplitude with the Beskidian hills. Ever since Weronika was born – suffering from cerebral palsy, her mother Weronika struggles with these questions attempting to continue her previous passions in a new life with her daughter.

  • “Saudade” in the Short Films Program of the Lublin Film Festival

  • “Saudade” by Wojciech Pokorski will be a part of the Short Film program of the approaching Lublin Film Festival to take place between November 22nd – 30th. The festival will present 8 feature and 137 short films from around the world, which will be evaluated by the Jury composed of Joanna Kos-Krauze, Mateusz Demski, and Adrian Apanel.
