“Mom Is Coming Back” and ”We Need to Focus” in Competition of the 21st European Film Festival “Integration, You and Me” in Koszalin, Poland

Mikołaj Janik’s “Mom Is Coming Back” and Marcin Zydek’s “We Need to Focus” will be shown in competition of the forthcoming “Integration, You and Me” European Film Festival to take place in Koszalin between September 3rd-7th. The festival will present 31 European fiction and documentary films in the main competition along with numerous other short and feature films in the amateur films competition and additional programs of accompanying events and discussions.

Presented earlier, among others, in Thessaloniki and Washington, “Mom Is Coming Back” – a documentary short – tries to answer questions like whether it is possible to journey in place, and if one can replace the Himalayan amplitude with the Beskidian hills. Ever since Weronika was born – suffering from cerebral palsy, her mother Weronika struggles with these questions attempting to continue her previous passions in a new life with her daughter.

Awarded with the India’s Film Critics Circle Award in 2023, “We Need to Focus” by Marcin Zydek is a documentary etude following preparations to a special concert at the Polish Baltic Philharmonic in Gdansk.

  • Kamil Czudej’s “Nothing Serious” will be a part of the Competition program of the forthcoming 28th Zoom International Film Festival to take place in Jelenia Góra in Poland between March 3rd-9th. The film, which earlier got the Jury Mention and the Interia Prize “Discovery of the Festival” at the 49th Gdynia FF, and – recently – the Special Jury Mention for the Main Role for Mateusz Więcławek in the Blaue Blume TV Competition 2025, will be one of the 47 international short film productions shown at this year’s edition of the festival in Jelenia Góra.

  • Aleksandra Szczepaniak’s “Attraction” got Honorable Mention in the Student Film category of the New York Cinematography Awards competition that presented over 100 feature and short films from around the world, among others from Australia, Canada, China, Columbia, France, Germany, Hungary, India, Italy, Japan, Portugal, RPA, Switzerland, South Korea, Tunisia, Turkey, UK, USA, etc.
