Multiple Awards for the Gdynia Film School’s Films at the International Student Film Awards 2023 in India

“Don’t Talk to Me Like That” by Hanna Kilińska has been awarded with the Best Fiction Film Award, “Resurrection” by Luiza Budejko got the Best Director Fiction Prize, Maria Dudaref and Eliza Rycembel received Best Actress Prizes for their leading roles in the “Resurrection” and “Don’t Talk to Me Like That” respectively, and Dawid Bajerski got the Best Cinematography Prize, while Zuzanna Kubicz – the Best Production Design Award for their work at the “Resurrection” in the International Student Film Awards competition, organized by the India Parul University in Gujarat. The nominated films were presented at the University Campus in Vadodara, between April 18th-21st, among productions from India, France, China and Iran among others.

The Jury awarded the films with the following statements:
– Best Fiction Film Award – “Don’t Talk to Me Like That”: “Poignant narrative of brother and sister, taking deep decisions for their mutual care.”
– Best Director Fiction Prize – “Resurrection”: “Amazing attempt at depicting the mind-set of a young girl, about her loss and hopes.”
– Best Actress Prize – Eliza Rycembel “Don’t Talk to Me Like That”: “A subtle and powerful performance, portraying a challenging situation in her relationship with her brother.”
– Best Actress Prize – Maria Dudaref “Resurrection”: “A fluid and effortless portrait of a young girl in a difficult family situation.”
– Best Cinematographer – Dawid Bajerski “Resurrection”: “Emotive and sensitive cinematography, in tune with the characterizations.”
– Best Production Design – Zuzanna Kubicz “Resurrection”: “For effective use of colours and textures which helps create an experience of loss and hope.”

”Resurrection” by Luiza Budejko sketches a portrait of a family dealing with the death of small Marcel. 10-year-old Magda, Marcel’s sister, feels a need to help their parents overcome the tragedy and to do something that will let them all return to their life as it was before.

Hanna Kilińska’s “Don’t Talk To Me Like That” presents a complexity of a musically talented sibling relationship.

  • Marcin Niemkiewicz’s “love_proxy” will be presented in a framework of the forthcoming International Fantastic Film Festival Splat FF in Warsaw, between October 24th – 31st. This year’s 11th edition of the festival will feature the brand new international horror, sci-fi, and fantasy productions just premiered in Venice, Toronto, and Cannes.

  • “Olga” in the Youth Perspective Competition of the Spektrum Film Festival

  • Lulu Pomorova’s “Olga” will take part in the Youth Perspective Competition of documentary films at the forthcoming Spektrum FF to take place in Polish Świdnica and Czechia Trutnov between October 21st – 26th. Spektrum FF will present 49 internationally made films by young directors in three competitive sections for fiction, documentary, and animation.
