“Saudade” and “Everything for My Friend” in the Short Films Program of the Washington Polish Film Festival

Lulu Pomorova’s “Everything for My Friend” and Wojciech Pokorski’s “Saudade” will be presented in the Short Film program of the forthcoming Washington Polish Film Festival to take place between March 4th – 9th. Organized by the Kosciuszko Foundation annual festival will feature twenty recent Polish fiction films.

Presented earlier at numerous film festivals in Poland, and in Canada, Columbia, Finland, Mexico, Portugal, South Korea, Slovakia, Spain, and the US, ”Everything for My Friend” follows a friendship of two women at a crucial point of transition between artistic school and professional life. The two friends face a choice whether to support or compete against each other.

Nominated last year for the Grand OFF Prize for the Best Polish Short Film, and shown at film festivals in Poland, as well as in Canada, Germany, South Korea, Spain, and the US, the “Saudade” by Wojciech Pokorski in a sensitive and detailed way captures psychology of a child in confrontation with grave illness of the mother.
