“Tacking” and ”Everything for My Friend” in the Blue Herring Competition of the 30th Blue Sea Film Festival in Finland!

“Tacking” by Jakub Laskowski and “Everything for My Friend” by Lulu Pomorova will be presented in the Blue Herring Student Films Competition of the forthcoming 30th Blue Sea FF in Rauma, Finland. Taking place between August 17th – 20th, the festival will feature in the student films section only 14 short films produced in the Baltic Sea countries.

“Tacking” and ”Everything for My Friend” in the Blue Herring Competition of the 30th Blue Sea Film Festival in Finland!

“Tacking” – a diploma film by Jakub Laskowski – is a surrealist account of a psychological process of coming to terms with the death of a father.

”Everything for My Friend” – a diploma film by Lulu Pomorova – follows a friendship of two women at a crucial point of transition between artistic school and professional life. The two friends face a choice whether to support or compete against each other.

The Gdynia Film School’s productions will be shown among the student films from the Finnish Aalto University, Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theater, German Filmakademie Baden-Wurttemberg and Hochschule Darmstadt, and the Polish State Film School in Łódź, among others.

  • Mikołaj Janik’s “The Mandala” has been awarded with the Best Horror Prize of the Roma Short Film Fest in Rome, which ended on December 7th. The festival presented “The Mandala” among the several international competition films, produced among others in Canada, China, Ireland, Italy, South Korea, Switzerland, United Kingdom, and the US.
