“The Mandala” and “Mom Is Coming Back” in Competition of the 43rd Koszalin First Film Festival in Poland

Mikołaj Janik’s two films: “The Mandala” and “Mom Is Coming Back” will be presented in various competitive sections of the forthcoming Festival of First Films in Koszalin, Poland, which takes place between June 10th – 15th. “The Mandala” will screen in a short fiction film competition, while “Mom Is Coming Back” – in the documentary short film program.

“The Mandala” in a thriller convention tells a story of a mother and son struggling with a loss.

“Mom Is Coming Back” tries to answer questions like whether it is possible to journey in place, and if one can replace the Himalayan amplitude with the Beskidian hills. Ever since Weronika was born – suffering from cerebral palsy, her mother Weronika struggles with these questions attempting to continue her previous passions in a new life with her daughter.

  • ”Señorita” – a short etude by Sebastian Szewczykowski – was presented in competition of the Seattle Sisters Cities Short Film Festival to take place on May 4th. Founded in 1956 by the US President Dwight D.   • Marcin Niemkiewicz’s ”InstaLove” will open the forthcoming 12th edition of the Ottawa EU Short Film Festival to take place between May 2nd-3rd. The twenty three festival short films will be later shown across Canada, including Montreal in late May.
