”Transgression” and “Aphasia” in the Programme of the 29th Prowincjonalia Film Festival in Września, Poland

Diana Szczotka ‘s ”Transgression” and Jakub Laskowski’s “Aphasia” will be shown at the forthcoming 29th edition of the Prowincjonalia Festival of the Film Art to take place in Września between April 17th-20th. The festival will present numerous recent Polish feature, short, documentary and animation films, and will grant this year’s Honorary Prize to legendary film director, co-creator of the cinema of moral anxiety – Feliks Falk.

”Transgression” and “Aphasia” in the Programme of the 29th Prowincjonalia Film Festival in Września, Poland

”Transgression”, to be presented within the short films competition, is a dance club love story, which unexpectedly brings in a confrontation of one’s deepest convictions with overwhelming desires.

Awarded at the Guangzhou IDFF 2023, the ”Aphasia” is a documentary short, presenting an intimate portrait of Mr. Zdzisław, who talks about his life and how it changed under the influence of the aphasia.

  • Marcin Niemkiewicz’s “love_proxy”, Aleksandra Szczepaniak’s “Attraction”, and Diana Szczotka’s “Haven” are among the films presented in the September edition of the NY New Filmmakers Plus Program, to take place between September 1st -30th. The program, organized by the Anthology Film Archives in New York features the films by young filmmakers from China, Iran, Korea, Poland, UK, and USA.

  • “Nothing Serious” Awarded Grand Prix of the 17th Solanin Film Festival in Poland

  • Kamil Czudej’s “Nothing Serious” got Grand Prix and the Youth Jury Prize of the 17th Solanin Film Festival held in Nowa Sól, Poland, between August 20th – 24th. The Jury awarded the film for: “a good, true story, perfect acting, and deep emotions expressed in extraordinary language. The astute title suggests serious topic, and realization was made in a spirit of the best traditions of the Polish Film School”.
